Welcome to Blue Tide, a space for anyone curious about the blue economy to explore, learn, and be inspired.

For those new to the term, the blue economy is all about using the ocean and its resources in a sustainable way. It’s a fast-growing sector, projected to reach $3 trillion by 2030 and a central focus of the United Nations Ocean Decade, which is mobilizing global action for a healthier ocean.

When I first began exploring the blue economy, I noticed that it can often feel too scientific or tucked away in niche reports. Blue Tide was created to change that.

Each week, I bring you three stories from across the industry, told in plain language and shaped by the voices of people driving change in the field. From aquaculture policy and ocean tech investment to coastal resilience and conservation, the goal is to make the blue economy accessible to anyone who wants to understand it.
